April 2026 update

Happy Friday from the Wigan & Leigh Art Map team!

This month we celebrated the 3rd birthday of the art map at Kawa’s Coffee & Wine Bar.

Special thanks to artists Olivia Taberner, Abigail Lythgoe and Emily Robson from Everyday’s Taking Shape programme for delivering super fun workshops, from ink painting to badge making. Check out the vibe here!

To mark the occasion, we asked everyone to share their love for arts and culture in Wigan borough. Here’s what they had to say:

  • FRIENDS = NETWORKS = SUPPORT IN MY HOME TOWN!
  • Love our brilliant supportive community!
  • Enthusiastic and creative always <3
  • Can leave and still come back… Wigan is always welcoming + a safe space to make + be professional
  • Networks spanning 12+ years *****
