Happy New Year from the Wigan & Leigh Art Map team!

We’re delighted there’s now 72 wonderful local artists and arts organisations on the art map, with 5 artists featured in more detail on our website. It’s been lovely to add so many of you to the map this year and we’re looking forward to growing our community more in 2025.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first drop-in session and artist social! We introduced the project to many new faces and added more fantastic local artists to our growing digital resource. There’s more chances coming up to join us in the new year:

Winstanley College student placements
In 2025, we are excited to share that we are welcoming four media students from Winstanley College on placement with us. The placement offers students the opportunity to complete work experience counting towards their qualification whilst learning from local creative experts. We are hoping our students will meet artists and creative practitioners across the borough alongside helping us with social media, video work and interviews. We can’t wait to hear their ideas!
