Jack Smith

WN6

Jack is a photographer based in Wigan, with a practice rooted in documenting the North, its people, environment, and the realities of mental health. Their work aims to capture honest, often overlooked moments that reflect everyday life and social issues.

Jack studied Photography at both BA and MA level at the University of Salford, where they developed their current approach and long-term projects. Their main body of work, Anti Charity, explores fly-tipping and environmental neglect, questioning responsibility and community impact.
Alongside this, they are currently working on a new series of self-portraits.

In terms of exhibitions, they will be showing work this September at Gin on the Lane in Wigan, with several more exhibitions currently in the works. Jack also exhibited in the Wigan Open Exhibition as part of the Arts Fest!
