Cross Street Arts was set up as a charitable organisation in 1999. The studios and gallery space are based in the village of Standish on the outskirts of Wigan.
Cross Street Arts aims to provide, where possible, access to studio spaces and exhibition opportunities for professional artists. One of our goals is to create greater access to the visual arts and encourage learning and appreciation of these in the public arena. In 2024, we proudly celebrated our 25th anniversary, a milestone that reflects our long-standing dedication to nurturing creativity and promoting the value of visual arts within the cultural landscape.
We invited our T Level student team from Winstanley College (on placement with us January – March 2025) to visit Cross Street Arts. During their visit, they explored the studios and gallery, interviewed their artist members, and produced this fantastic video showcasing the vibrant activities taking place.
